Another icon is gone too soon.

When the news broke on Saturday, February 11th, I was hoping it was a hoax. But as reputable media outlets like CNN and ABC began to confirm the story, my heart sunk. As a DJ, I enjoyed spinnin’ classic Whitney tracks…”I Wanna Dance With Somebody” is/was a “go-to” song for the ladies. It never failed.

Whitney was only 48 years old. There was NO other voice like hers. Without Whitney, we wouldn’t have a Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, or Jennifer Hudson.

I refuse to even acknowledge the ignorant comments and “jokes” being made about her death.

People are real quick to pass judgement on someone they only know from what they read/hear in the news. None of us have any idea what was going on behind closed doors.

FACT: Death is no joke. FACT: Losing someone you love is no joke (TRUST ME).

Before you pass judgement on how someone lived their life, please take a look at your own life and make sure you’re doing all you can in yours. Tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us.

Despite what caused her death, I’m praying for her family.
